India’s First E-Scooter with 56L Boot Space Launched at ₹1.09 Lakh, 160km Range on Full Charge

Ather Energy, the EV manufacturer based in Bengaluru, has launched its family electric scooter, Ather Rizta. The company unveiled this scooter today (April 6) at a community day event held in Bengaluru. Ather Rizta is an electric scooter entirely redesigned after the company’s 450 series. The company claims that it can run up to 160 km on a full charge, making it the electric scooter with the largest seat and the most boot space in the scooter segment. The scooter will have a total boot space of 56 liters, including 34 liters under the seat and 22 liters in the front trunk. Additionally, the company has introduced a new “Hello Helmet” with voice command features that work in tandem with the scooter.

Pricing and Variants of Ather Rizta

Ather Rizta is available in 2 models and 3 variants. These include Rizta S (2.9 kWh battery), Rizta Z (2.9 kWh battery), and Rizta Z (3.7 kWh battery). The starting price for Rizta is ₹1,09,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). Ather Rizzta S is available in 3 monotone colors. Meanwhile, Rizzta Z will have 7 color options, including 3 monotone and 4 dual-tone colors. The company has initiated bookings for the electric scooter. Customers can book it by paying ₹999 and booking it on their official website. The company claims that the scooter deliveries will commence from July 24. It will compete with Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak in the electric scooter market.

Design of Ather Rizta Electric Scooter

The electric scooter will feature a foldable pillion footrest, apron-mounted LED headlights, and a floorboard. The company claims that its seat is the largest in the segment and it has grab-rails and a single-piece unit. The DRL headlights will be placed below the handlebar. Furthermore, it will have a swingarm box-type setup and 12-inch wheels on both ends.

Enhanced Floorboard Area

During testing, Ather Rizla has been seen on Indian roads frequently. The electric scooter has many notable features. It seems like a significant step up from the company’s lineup, especially with its large floorboard area and provision for storing items along with a long seat.
