Ather Energy, an EV manufacturer based in Bangalore, has opened bookings for its upcoming electric scooter, Ather Rizta. Buyers can book the scooter by paying Rs. 999 on the official website. The company has also shared this information on the social media platform X and released a teaser for the electric scooter.

The upcoming electric scooter from Ather is referred to as a family electric scooter. According to the teaser, it will feature the largest boot space and the biggest seat in its segment. Additionally, it will come equipped with safety features such as voice commands, brake assist, and anti-lock braking system (ABS).

The company is preparing for a community day event on April 6th, where Rizta will be launched. It is stated that deliveries will commence four months after the scooter’s launch. The company has been testing the scooter for many days now.

Ather CEO Tarun Mehta shared a photo on the social media platform X, discussing the seat height of the upcoming electric scooter. He compared it with Honda Activa and Ola Electric S1. The expected ex-showroom price of the scooter will be between Rs. 1.25 lakh to Rs. 1.35 lakh.

During testing, the Ather Rizta spends a lot of time on Indian roads. Many special features of the electric scooter were revealed during testing, even when concealed in the testing model mule. Among the company’s lineup, the electric scooter Ather 450X stands out in terms of area coverage. The e-scooter prominently displays a large floorboard area, along with providing a pin to store items alongside the spacious seat.

The Ather Rizta comes with a range of features, including a horizontal LED headlight, tail lamp, full LED lighting, a complete digital screen, ride modes, smartphone connectivity, and fast charging. Additionally, it features a large floorboard area and spacious seat along with a pin for storing items. The rear grab rail comes with 12-inch wheels.

The company refers to the upcoming EV as a family electric scooter, indicating that it’s designed with family-oriented features in mind. While specific technical specifications of the e-scooter haven’t been announced, it’s expected to achieve a range of over 150 km.

In the Ather Family electric scooter Rizta, both wheels can feature disc brakes for braking, while telescopic forks in the front and mono-shock absorbers in the rear provide suspension. It may also come with a new motor setup and battery pack, along with the capability for higher top speeds.

The company will launch new accessories. In other posts, Ather revealed that EVs will have the option to play music while riding, but the company has not integrated speakers onto the scooter. There’s an expectation to integrate speakers and microphone into the Halo smart helmet, which will support all Ather scooters. Ather has also introduced a new accessory in the form of a tire inflator, which can be used as a flashlight and power bank as well.
