Revamped Chetak Premium Hits the Streets at 1.35 Lakh: Electric Scooter with 127km Range, Remote Lock/Unlock – Set to Rival Ola and Ather
Bajaj Auto, the two-wheeler manufacturing company, has launched a premium electric scooter with cosmetic upgrades and mechanical enhancements. The updated electric scooter comes with a larger battery pack, and the company claims it can provide a range of 127 km on a full charge. In addition to this, it features updated safety functions in electric vehicles (EVs), such as remote lock/unlock and auto hill-hold.
Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter: Pricing and Variants
Bajaj’s electric scooter is available in two variants – Standard and Tech Pack. The Standard variant is priced at INR 135,463, while the Tech Pack variant costs INR 144,463. There has been a price increase of INR 15,000 in the flagship scooter’s price. Bajaj has also updated the Urban Edition, launched last month, with a price of INR 115,001. With the Tech Pack, its price stands at INR 123,001. Both EV prices are ex-showroom Bengaluru and include FAME 2 subsidy.
Bajaj Chetak: Design and Color Options
The company has not made any changes to the design of the electric scooter. It continues to feature a steel body. It comes with a dual-tone seat, body-colored rear-view mirrors, a satin black grab rail, and a headlamp casing with matching pillion footrest casting and charcoal black finish. The electric scooter comes equipped with disc brakes, alloy wheels, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension, metal body panels, and IP67 waterproofing. The Chetak Premium is available in Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic Blue, and Brooklyn Black color options, while the Chetak Urban Edition comes in Urban Gloss Grey, Cyber White, Brooklyn Black, and Indigo Metallic Blue.
Chetak Premium EV: Battery, Range, and Charger
The Chetak Premium now features a 3.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a significantly upgraded range of 127 km as per ARAI standards, up from the previous 108 km. The larger battery pack comes with an 800-volt on-board charger, capable of charging from 0 to 100% in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. In the same time frame, the Urban Edition, equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery pack, can achieve a range of 113 km. It also comes with a 650-volt off-board charger, enabling a complete charge in just under 5 hours.
5-Inch TFT Display with Full Application Connectivity
The Chetak Premium now boasts a 5-inch TFT display, offering features such as navigation, music playback control, and call management. Riders can customize the display theme based on their preferences. Additionally, the Tech Pack option includes features like riding modes, indicator blinkers, and full app connectivity.
