Gas Leak Detection: A Safety Feature by Tata Motors

Tata Motors has incorporated gas leak detection as a safety feature in both of its cars. In instances of CNG leakage, the leak detection technology seamlessly shifts the car from CNG to petrol mode. This technology also alerts the driver about the gas leak. Additionally, during refueling, a micro switch is provided to keep the car shut off. This switch shuts off the ignition when the fueling cap is opened. Until the fueling cap is securely closed, the car remains blocked from starting. Moreover, the instrument cluster provides a ‘Close Fuel Lid’ alert as an added safety measure.

Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG: Engine and Power

Both the Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG feature a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder bi-fuel petrol engine. This engine generates 84 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque in petrol mode. However, in CNG mode, it produces 72 bhp of power and 95 Nm of torque. As for transmission, the engine is now available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automatic (AMT) gearbox.

Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG: Features

The CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor come equipped with semi-digital instrument clusters, automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and 8 speakers for enhanced entertainment. In terms of safety, they feature dual front airbags, tire pressure monitoring, rear parking camera with sensors, and rear defogger among other safety features.
