Swedish automaker Volvo has introduced the latest variant of its Volvo XC40 Recharge in India. This new variant features a single motor installed on the rear axle, offering a claimed range of 475km on a full charge. In addition to its electric capabilities, the SUV comes equipped with 7 airbags and safety features like ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). The Volvo XC40 Recharge is available in two global variants, labeled as E60 and E80, while in India, it will be sold as the ‘Plus’ entry-level variant priced at ₹54.95 lakh (ex-showroom India).

At the same time, the top-end variant named ‘Ultimate,’ featuring dual motors and all-wheel drive, is available at ₹57.90 lakh (ex-showroom India). In the Indian market, the Volvo XC40 Recharge competes with models like the BYD Ceed, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6. Customers can book this new variant online or offline through Volvo dealerships. Assembly of this variant is being carried out at Volvo’s Hoskote manufacturing facility in Karnataka. This launch underscores Volvo’s commitment to providing sustainable mobility solutions and further strengthens its presence in the Indian electric vehicle market.

Volvo XC40 Recharge: Features

The Volvo XC40 Recharge’s new dual-motor-drive variant boasts features similar to the Ultimate variant. It includes Volvo’s Sensus Connective Technology with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 250-watt 8-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and air purifier functionality. Additionally, it offers powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and two-zone climate control features.

For passenger safety, this luxury electric SUV comes equipped with 7 airbags, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Park Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection features.
