Despite overall peaceful voting in all Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat yesterday, an incident of disruption during voting occurred at the Dahod Lok Sabha election, where booth capturing took place. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media platforms. 

Booth capturing was carried out in the Pithampur village of Santrampur taluka in Mahisagar district, during the voting process of the Dahod Lok Sabha election. In this incident, it was alleged that the son of a BJP leader was involved in booth capturing. Moreover, he live-streamed the entire incident on social media.

During the Dahod Lok Sabha election, BJP leader Vijay Bhabhor’s son allegedly entered a booth and captured the EVM. Vijay Bhabhor even live-streamed the entire incident on his Instagram account. 

Not only this, but Vijay Bhabhor has also been under discussion for allegedly engaging in bogus voting along with others in support of the BJP candidate. In the video, the phrase “EVM belongs to our father” can be heard, adding fuel to the controversy.

Request for Election Inquiry in Dahod

An appeal for an election inquiry has been made regarding allegations of booth capturing in Dahod. The Election Commission has been requested to provide a report on the matter. Based on this report, the Election Panel will now proceed to make decisions regarding the election.

Alleged Booth Hijacking and Video Controversy

Allegations have surfaced suggesting that the son of a BJP leader hijacked a booth without any fear of the law during the elections. It is reported that he even attempted to take the EVM with him. As the video of the incident went viral, Vijay Bhabhor has reportedly deleted it from his social media platform.

Dr. Prabh Ben Taviad, the Congress candidate for the Dahod election, filed a complaint with the Collector regarding the incident. Consequently, the Collector and election officials have initiated an investigation into the matter.
