Election Commission Probes Modi’s Remarks on Wealth Distribution to Muslims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated an investigation into the allegations made during the election campaign in Banswara. PM Modi had stated in Banswara, Rajasthan, that if Congress comes to power, it will distribute people’s wealth among Muslims. He also referred to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s comment, stating that minorities have the first right over the country’s resources.

Congress and CPI(M) had separately filed complaints in the Election Commission against PM Modi’s appeal for action on the ‘distribution of wealth’ of Muslims. Congress labeled this appeal as divisive, filled with ill intentions, and aimed at targeting a specific community.

During this time, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also urged the Election Commission to take action on this complaint and appealed to PM Modi and BJP to refrain from actions against Muslims. He also demanded an FIR in this case.

The stamp of the Muslim League is evident in this manifesto. There are pressures in other parts of the remaining manifesto. Congress does not have principles or policies today. It seems that Congress has outsourced everything. This Congress cannot do any work for the country’s benefit.

Modi had said that where Congress stays, there cannot be development. Congress has never cared for the poor, nor has it thought of the deprived. Congress can be said to be such that it is on a downward spiral. First, it is a family-based party and on it, there is an equal corrupt side.
