Indian Student Found Dead at Purdue University Campus

On Sunday morning, an Indian student named Neil Acharya was found dead at Purdue University campus in the state of Indiana, USA. According to police officials, a report of a dead body was received at the Purdue University campus at 11:30 AM on Sunday. Following this, the police confirmed Neil’s death.

In reality, Neil’s mother Gauri Acharya had provided information on social media that Neil had been missing for nearly 12 hours. When he reached the college campus on Saturday, efforts were underway to locate him. Following this post, the Indian Consulate General in Chicago stated that they are in contact with Purdue University authorities. Efforts are underway to find Neil.

Cause of Death Unclear for Purdue University Student

The circumstances surrounding Neil’s death have not yet been clarified. The Computer Science department at the university had informed all students and faculty members about Neil’s death via email on Sunday. According to Purdue’s student newspaper, The Purdue Exponent, the college administration had notified students through an email that a student, identified as Neil, was found deceased on campus. Neil’s ID proof was also found near the body.

Neil’s friend and roommate, Aryan Khanolkar, stated, “Neil was a good person, and we will always remember him.” Neil Acharya has been pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Data Science at Purdue University’s College of Science since 2022. He had completed his schooling in Pune.
