Accident in Maharashtra Leaves 55 Individuals Injured, Including 47 Students, as Bus Collides With Truck

In a morning incident in Palghar district of Maharashtra, a collision between a bus carrying 55 passengers, predominantly comprising school and college students, and a truck resulted in injuries to the occupants. Authorities reported the incident.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 am in the vicinity of Desai village within the Wada tehsil, according to an official from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

The vehicle involved in the collision was an MSRTC-operated bus, and it was transporting a substantial contingent of both school and college students, stated Vilas Rathod, the divisional controller for the Thane division of the corporation.

“There were a total of 70 passengers on board the bus when the collision occurred with a truck traveling in the opposite direction along Chinchpada-Wada Road. Among the passengers, 55 individuals sustained injuries, comprising 47 students. Fortunately, none of the injured individuals suffered any severe or major injuries,” stated the official.

“All the injured individuals, including the bus driver, were promptly transported to local hospitals for immediate medical attention. Following preliminary medical assessment and treatment, all of the injured passengers were deemed fit to be discharged and allowed to return to their respective homes,” the official reported.

Police Inspector Suresh Kadam has officially confirmed that a substantial portion of the injured individuals comprises students.
