Salman’s Car Firing Plan Foiled: 4 Shooters from Lawrence Gang Nabbed in Mumbai, Weapons Smuggled from Pakistan

Once again, the Mumbai Police have prevented an attempt to attack Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The Navi Mumbai Police have arrested four individuals associated with the gang of Lawrence Bishnoi, who were plotting an assault on Salman’s car in Panvel. Identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia, Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan, these individuals were also allegedly planning to procure weapons from across the border in Pakistan. 

According to media reports, the assailants were attempting to acquire firearms such as AK-47, M-16, and AK-92.

Cases have been registered against all four under various sections including IPC 115, 120 (B), and 506. In addition to the four mentioned, a total of 18 individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, and Goldy Brar, have been named in the FIR lodged by the police.

Daughter of Gangster Anandpal Also Arrested

According to media reports, the daughter of gangster Anandpal was also in contact with the accused. She was allegedly involved with a social media group associated with the arrested individuals, raising concerns about her potential involvement in plotting the assassination of Salman Khan. 

Ajay Kashyap is suspected to have played a coordinating role among all the accused. Investigations are also underway regarding connections to England and Pakistan. Ajay Kashyap himself was allegedly involved in arms trafficking. 

Following the foiled incident, there were plans to flee from Kanyakumari to Sri Lanka. Police have also scrutinized a WhatsApp media group associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, from which they have gathered significant information. The accused had also conducted reconnaissance in Goregaon Film City. Several phones and SIM cards have been seized from the accused.

Plan to Import Dangerous Weapons from Pakistan

According to police sources, these four accused were planning to carry out the attack by procuring weapons from Pakistan. Media reports suggest that the assailants were attempting to acquire firearms such as AK-47, M-16, and AK-92. 

They had also conducted reconnaissance of farmhouses and many shooting locations. Police have seized numerous videos from their mobile phones as well.

Procurement of AK-47 Through Video Call from Pakistan

It was revealed that these four individuals attempted to procure AK-47 rifles from Pakistan through a video call. They had conducted reconnaissance of Salman’s residence and farmhouse. 

Ajay Kashyap, in particular, had made contact via video call with a person named Dogar residing in Pakistan. He was allegedly in the process of obtaining an AK-47 rifle from there to carry out the attack on Salman.

Plan to Attack Salman by Sagir, Then Fleeing to Sri Lanka

Further information surfaced that Sagir had devised a plan to launch an attack on Salman. Subsequently, after the assault, their plan was to escape to Sri Lanka. 

Additionally, police received intelligence that Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra, notorious gangsters from Mumbai, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Gujarat, had approximately 60 to 70 sharpshooters surveilling Salman Khan. 

They were allegedly conspiring to orchestrate an attack on him. Their scheme involved fleeing to Sri Lanka via boat from Kanyakumari post-attack.

Firing Incident Outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment on April 14

On the morning of April 14, prior to the recent incident, there was gunfire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. Two assailants on bikes fired five rounds during the incident. Salman was at his home at the time of the shooting. Following the incident, security around Salman’s residence was beefed up.

Two days later, both suspects involved in the shooting were apprehended. Khan had reportedly received threats to his life from Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang prior to the firing incident.

Anmol Bishnoi Held Responsible for the Incident

On the day of the incident, Lawrence’s brother Anmol Bishnoi took responsibility for the incident on social media. Just two days after the attack, both assailants were apprehended in Gujarat. 

During interrogation, it was revealed that both had obtained the contract for this job from the Lawrence gang. Mumbai Crime Branch has now implicated the Bishnoi brothers in this case, and preparations are underway to question Lawrence himself. Currently, Lawrence is detained in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.

Occurrences of Threats Against Salman Khan

Throughout recent years, Salman Khan, the Bollywood star, has been subjected to numerous threats and intimidation tactics. These incidents highlight the persistent security challenges faced by celebrities in India.

June 2022: Threat from an Unknown Sender

In June 2022, Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, received a threatening letter at their residence. The letter contained explicit threats of violence against Salman and his family. Salim Khan promptly contacted the authorities, leading to the registration of a case at the Bandra police station.

Previous Year: Threatening Phone Call

The previous year saw a threatening phone call directed at Salman Khan by an individual claiming intent to harm him. The caller, identified as a 16-year-old, was apprehended after the Mumbai Police intervened. Subsequently, legal action was taken against the perpetrator, whose identity was publicly disclosed by the authorities.

Email Threats from Rajasthan

In another incident, residents of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, attempted to trespass onto Salman Khan’s farmhouse in January 2024. Prompt police intervention prevented any harm, and subsequent investigations revealed the suspects’ attempt to gain unauthorized access to the property. 

Further scrutiny uncovered the possession of forged identification documents, leading to the filing of FIRs against the intruders. These events underscore the constant security risks faced by Salman Khan, with his safety under the vigilant watch of law enforcement agencies, particularly the scrutiny from the Lawrence gang.

‘Sikandar’ to Release on Eid This Year

Salman Khan recently unveiled his upcoming film, ‘Sikandar’, on the occasion of Eid. Directed by the renowned South Indian filmmaker, A.R. Murugadoss, known for his work on Hindi films like ‘Ghajini’, ‘Holiday’, and ‘Akira’, the movie is set to hit the screens this Eid.

The film is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has previously collaborated with Salman Khan on blockbuster hits like ‘Judwaa’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, and ‘Kick’. With Nadiadwala’s backing and Murugadoss’s directorial expertise, ‘Sikandar’ is anticipated to be another box office success.
